The Christmas Houses at Policarpio St.

Posted on: December 28th, 2010 by

The past couple of days after Christmas were quite lazy ones for the Aquino household. For some reason, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day tired us that we didn’t make any firm plans after. But the days hit us with spontaneity that brought us to a day trip to Tagaytay with family friends on Dec 26 to enjoy cold weather  even for just a few hours. Yesterday, after an entire day at home, we decided to check out the Christmas houses over at Policarpio St in Mandaluyong.

Policarpio St. in Mandaluyong has become quite a popular sightseeing place during Christmas season. Homeowners put up outdoor Christmas decorations to the max that will leave you either in awe of their creative and hard work or in fright at how much their electric bill must be for the month. Unlike in the previous years though, there were only a handful of houses that decorated. Those who did though still did wonderful.

The House of Santa —

I wonder how many days it took them to wrap this house in lights? It glowed so much we half expected  for the homeowner to come out glowing as well —

This house reminded me of the game Nightclub City —

Wonderfully made Santa in Sleigh —

The gates of heaven guarded by the angels —

A beautiful Nativity display —

I asked my son what was his favorite among the Christmas displays. This is what he pointed to —

If you would like to check out these Christmas houses, here are the directions:

  • Coming from EDSA (southbound lane), turn right at Boni Ave (marker: Caltex and 7-11)
  • Go straight towards Maysilo Circle (marker: Mandaluyong City Hall) and drive around it then turn right at the other side of Boni Ave (marker: Vets in Practice Pet Hotel and Wellness center)
  • Turn right at P. Cruz (marker: Shell gas station and Core Oil gas station).
  • Policarpio st. will be the third street at the left side. At this time, there will be men who can guide you here to park your car since visitors may not park along Policarpio st.
