Here is another easy craft you and your child can do to celebrate the Chinese New Year – Chinese Dragon Dance Toy
Chinese Dragon Dance Toy
Materials:
Printed template of the Chinese Dragon Face and Tail
1 pc of red paper
Coloring Materials
Decorating materials (glitters, sequins, chenille,etc)
3 pcs. Barbecue Sticks
Glue
Scissors
Tape
Procedure:
1. Cut out the dragon face and tail.
2. Color and decorate the dragon face and tail.
3. Cut the piece of paper lengthwise.
4. Make a 1″ accordion fold on each piece of paper.
5. Glue the strips together to make one long strip to make the body of the dragon.
6. Decorate the body of the dragon.
7. Glue the dragon face on one end and the tail on the other end.
8. Tape a barbecue on each end and one in the middle.
Tip: You can make the body longer by adding more strips. Then attach more barbecue sticks to the body to get more kids play with one dragon toy. Have them make a choreographed dance… makes a good team activity!
