Let Me Plant A Tree For You
In three years time, my high school Alma mater will be celebrating its 25th year. As we lead up to that milestone year, we have laid out several outreach and fundraising projects, the first of which is SOW Green – A Tree Planting project. Do help us make our kick-off project successful… let me plant a tree for you.
SOW green is a tree-planting project of the Maryknoll High School Class of 1989 for the benefit of the Miriam College Endowment Fund and Greenpeace. The generous donations of tree seedlings will help support the Philippine DENR National Greening Program (under EO No. 26 issued by President Aquino) & at the same time help build the funds for the Miriam College Endowment Fund. On top of that, an environmental advocacy group, Greenpeace, shall serve as an additional beneficiary of the funds raised by the tree planting efforts of the Maryknoll high School Batch of 1989.
The first of the SOW Green project series will be at the Ifugao Nature Sanctuary (La Vista, Quezon City) on September 3, 2011 at 2PM. For only P200/tree seedling, your generous donation will help support the Philippine DENR National Greening Program & at the same time help build the funds for the MCHS batch of 1989’s contribution to the Miriam College Endowment Fund. for our tree planting efforts.
If you can spare the time to join me in this event, we would very much appreciate. Do bring your kids as this can be a fun experience for them. This will also give you a chance for you to make this event an educational experience for them and explain about nature and environmental protection.
If you would like to support this project but would not be able to attend, I’d be willing to plant your tree seedling for you.I’ll even take a photo of me or my kids planting it 🙂

To make a tree seedling donation, type in the number of seedling you wish to donate, type in the name you want placed on the certificate then click Add To Cart. You will notice your donation placed on your Shopping Cart at the right of your screen. Click to agree Terms and Conditions then click Proceed To Checkout. Complete the checkout process. You will then receive further instructions on how to give your donation. But just to let you know in advance, donations may be made by BPI Bank deposit, BDO Bank Deposit or Globe GCash. There will be no shipping/handling fees since your tree donation will be planted by me and your certificate will be sent electronically by the SOW Green Project Secretariat.
Note: Please do not make any other purchase in the Schoolkid.Ph Shop! with the tree seedling donation as I will forward the details of your donation to the SOW Green Committee for documentation.
Cut-off for the tree seedling donation is at 12noon, September 3. I will only plant tree seedlings in your behalf if the donation is given. I cannot plant a pledged donation.
For only Php200 seedling donation, you will receive a digital certificate of your donation after the tree planting. And as I’ve mentioned, I will send you a photo of your tree seedling donation being planted! Please note that only those tree seedlings donated through Schoolkid.Ph will get the photo 🙂
