My first Christmas Greeting Card
This coming week is sure to be a hectic one for me. Along with the Christmas rush is the kids’ third quarterly exams. But the week has started for me just right, when I was handed a Christmas card from Starbucks.
Yes, I am a coffee addict. Not a chain drinker though. It’s just that I have to have my daily dose of espresso to keep my day going. I usually pick up my drink at Starbucks Katipunan in the morning after I bring my youngest son to school.

Would you believe that there are 3 Starbucks coffee houses all in the 500meter stretch of Katipunan Ave. in Loyola Heights, QC?
I know that Starbucks’ aim is to get people to make their establishment a part of the community. I say, they’ve hit it spot on with me. Yes, I know too that it’s all part of the script when they make quick small chats with their customers, or call the regulars by name and even try to memorize their choice of drink. Well hey, the money I pay for my drink surely deserves such personalized service.
I don’t take it for granted though. It truly is nice to start your day with someone greeting you as you enter then asking you if you want your usual drink. One time I was surprised to have my coffee already made as I got to the counter. Apparently, they saw my car drive up and had made my coffee while I was parking my car.. good timing though since I was really in a hurry that day!
This morning was extra nice at my coffee run when along with my drink came a Christmas card with a free drink coupon (not my drink though).

What I find nice about this is that, I don’t receive a lot of Christmas cards anymore. When I was younger I remember having a basket full of Christmas cards beside our christmas tree, all from relatives and friends. I suppose now they’ve been replaced with e-cards, email greetings or text messages.
So thanks Starbucks (especially the Katipunan branches) for giving me my first Christmas card this season 🙂
