Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

Posted on: December 8th, 2010 by

Christmas is definitely in the air when you start seeing yuletide decorations all around the metro. At home, it is the Christmas tree that marks and sets the Christmas mood. Our December guest blogger, ChildsPlay Manila, shares with us how her Christmas tree becomes a recollection of memories for her precious one, Little Libra.

This year putting up my Christmas tree was more fun because of my little helper.

She helped me unpack the tree, wipe off the dust from the branches and hang them up. But more than anything she enjoyed playing peek a boo or maybe she was going for hide and go seek…

Little Libra’s interest eventually waned since the ornaments were too delicate for her to handle. But then we were to inspired  to add some of her own ornaments – little stuffed toys that she has collected over the past 2 years –  that would make the tree feel like it was  all hers.

Daddy gave her this doggie when they “bumped” into each other during his business lunch.

Ninang Abi gave this to her when she came back from trip to Paris

Mama Rory gave these Santa Claus slippers to Little Libra on her first Christmas.

I think she “borrowed” this doggie wristlet bag from her Tita Lexi’s room. I guess she was hoping her Tita would forget about it.

Little Libra charmed a restaurant owner in Subic and gave her this souvenir

This is from the birthday party of Little Libra’s first crush, Jaden.

We topped off the tree with this gift from Mama Rosie, a huge dog-lover.

From afar the tree looks a bit sparse since we just have the 2 years worth of toys:

But from this point of view, the tree is full and all hers and that’s all that matters

And there is a story behind each of the little ones we’ve collected over the past 2 years. So voila! The Christmas tree is all about family.

What else do you do to make Christmas more meaningful for your kids?
